Someone else set up my domain. How do I get it connected?
Updated October 18, 2026
The short answer
On Your domain, click Someone else looks after it? (or No, or I'm not sure), then Send the steps to whoever set it up. We email them the exact lines to add and a page where they can see when it's working. You don't need their password or yours.
Step by step
- Open Launch, then Your domain. If your address isn't filled in yet, click I have an address and type it.
- Click Someone else looks after it? (or, if we ask whether you can log in, No, or I'm not sure).
- Under Send the steps to whoever set it up, type their email address and add a note if you like.
- Click send. You can watch the progress on your setup screen, and we email you when it's live.
Who usually has it
- Your old web designer or agency
- An IT person or office manager
- A family member who set it up years ago
