Terms of service

Last updated 18 October 2026

The agreement between you and us. It is short on purpose, and the section worth reading twice is the one about what you publish under your own name.

The agreement

These terms are between you and Daylight ("we", "us"), and they apply when you use dylt.ai. Using the service means you accept them. Daylight is operated by a company incorporated in Delaware, USA.

If you accept them for a practice or a business, you confirm you are authorised to, and they bind it as well as you. The service is for running a business, not for personal use.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18, and a licensed, registered or credentialed practitioner, or authorised to act for a practice or business. You must give us accurate information and keep the email address you sign in with secure; what happens through your account is your responsibility.

What the service does

We review what somebody finds when they look for a practice online and score it. If you subscribe, we build you a website from what we found and what you tell us, or give you the fixes to make on the website you already have, and help with your Google listing and directory profiles. You can edit every word of a site we build. Nothing is published until you say so.

Much of what we write is drafted by AI from public information and can be wrong. Scores and estimates are approximate. We are not a marketing agency, a legal adviser or a compliance service, and nothing here is professional advice about how you should run or advertise your practice.

Checking a practice

Anyone may check any practice's public presence. Use what you learn lawfully: not to harass or mislead anyone, and not to pretend you act for a practice you don't.

The words are yours, and so is the responsibility

We draft copy for you and you are free to change it. What is published under your name is your professional statement, and you are responsible for it — including anything we drafted and you published.

This matters more here than in most places. What a practitioner may say in an advertisement — about credentials, specialisms, outcomes, fees and what counts as a testimonial — is set by your regulator: a state licensing board in the US, the national boards and Ahpra in Australia, a provincial college in Canada. Read every page before you publish it, and change or remove anything that would not be true or would not be permitted where you practise. That includes any Google reviews a site shows; we leave them out of sites for therapy practices and for every practice in Australia.

You confirm that the credentials, licences and registrations shown on your site are ones you actually hold.

Your content

What you write and upload, and what your practice has already published, stays yours. You give us permission to host, copy, adapt and publish it on the site we build for you, to show it back to you, and to use it to provide the service — only for as long as we do that for you.

You confirm you have the right to use the photographs and words on your site, including those we take from your practice's own pages and profiles, and permission from anyone identifiable in a photograph. Tell us to remove anything you don't have the right to use and we will.

What stays ours

The service, its software, and the designs, layouts and templates of the sites we build are ours. While you subscribe you may use your site as we host it. Your words and photographs are always yours, and we will send you a copy of them on request.

No client information

We do not collect, process or store any information about your clients or patients. Everything we read is your practice's public business presence. We are not a HIPAA business associate, we do not sign business associate agreements, and you must not send us protected health information, or any client's health information under any law, through this service, the editor, the support form or any other route.

Your Google listing and other accounts

If you give us access to your Google Business Profile, you confirm you are entitled to, and we will only make the changes you approved. Google decides what appears on its services and may reject, delay or reverse a change, or suspend a listing; we are not responsible for its decisions. You can remove our access at any time.

Domains

A domain you buy through us is registered on our registrar account and held for you while you subscribe. It is charged separately, in US dollars, for a year at a time, and domain charges are not refundable. If you stop subscribing, ask us within thirty days and we will transfer it to an account of your own, as long as its registration is paid up and the registry's rules allow — a newly registered domain can't move for sixty days. After that we may let it lapse.

A domain you already own stays yours; you only point it at us.

Paying

The price, and what it covers, are shown before you subscribe: in US dollars, or in Australian dollars for a practice in Australia. A first-month price applies to your first subscription only. Your subscription then renews every month, and your card is charged automatically, until you cancel. Prices don't include taxes unless we say so; if any apply, you are responsible for them.

We may change the price with at least thirty days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. If a payment fails, your site may go offline until it is paid.

You can cancel at any time from Settings in your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next payment; everything stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and that period is not refunded, except where the law requires a refund.

When it ends

At the end of the last period you paid for, a site we host for you comes down, and so do guide pages we publish on an address under your own domain. A website you host elsewhere is never affected. A domain you pointed at us keeps pointing at us, showing a short notice, until you change its settings. Your account and what you gave us stay unless you ask us to delete them, so you can come back. We will send you a copy of your words and photographs on request.

What you may not do

  • Publish anything unlawful, false, misleading or defamatory, or that infringes anyone's rights.
  • Put client or patient information into the service.
  • Disrupt, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or check practices in bulk or by automated means.
  • Resell the service, or use it to build a competing one, without our written agreement.

Things outside our control

Your domain, your Google listing and your directory profiles are run by other companies. We can help you with them; we cannot promise how those companies behave, and we are not responsible for them.

Nobody can promise a search ranking or a number of new clients. We do not, and you should treat anyone who does with suspicion.

Availability

We work to keep the service running and we cannot promise it never stops. We may change or withdraw parts of it, and we will tell you before we remove something you rely on.

No warranties

The service is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms — including that it is fit for a particular purpose, accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost clients, lost data, regulatory action against you or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for everything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If you are in Australia, nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

If a claim is made against us

You will cover our reasonable losses and costs if someone makes a claim against us because of what is published on your site, the information you gave us, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to publish something unlawful, or whose payments fail — and we will tell you why.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, write to us and give us thirty days to put it right. Any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and both of us accept their jurisdiction.

To the extent the law allows, claims may be brought only individually, not as part of a class or representative action, both of us give up the right to a jury trial, and a claim must be brought within one year of the events it is about.

The rest

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about the service. If a part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it to a company that takes over the service. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. We will send notices to the email address on your account. The parts that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement do.

Changes

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top. If a change affects what you pay for or what you are agreeing to, we will email you at least thirty days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
