Will connecting my domain affect my email?
Updated October 12, 2026
The short answer
No. Your email is run by separate DNS lines (MX records) that we never ask you to touch, so it keeps working exactly as before. The setup screen names your email provider, and warns you before you change anything in the rare case your email shares a server with your old website.
Why it's safe
Your website and your email use different lines in your DNS. We only ask you to change the ones for your website (A, AAAA and the www CNAME) and to add one TXT line. Your email lines stay as they are, whether you use Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, iCloud, Proton, Fastmail, GoDaddy email or something else.
The one exception
Some older hosting plans run your email and your website on the same server. If yours does, the setup screen shows a red box that says Don't change anything yet. Contact us before you go further, and we'll help you move it safely.
Your old website's email
If your email came with your old website's hosting plan (not a separate service like Google Workspace), don't cancel that plan until your email has a new home. Ask us if you're not sure.
