Where do I find the DNS settings for my domain?
Updated October 12, 2026
The short answer
At the company you pay each year for your address, usually under a page called DNS, DNS records or Manage DNS next to your domain. Your setup screen tells you which company it is. Here's the route for the most common ones.
Not sure which company it is?
- Your setup screen usually names it, because we can see where your address's DNS is kept.
- Search your email for a renewal receipt with your address in it. It's from the company you need.
- It's often the company that built your first website: GoDaddy, Squarespace, Wix or Namecheap are the most common.

Sign in to your account there, then follow the route:
| Company | Where DNS is | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Choose your domain, then DNS, then Records. | Set Proxy status to "DNS only" (the grey cloud) on the records below. With the orange cloud on, Cloudflare answers instead of us and your certificate can't be issued. |
| GoDaddy | My Products, then DNS next to your domain. | GoDaddy often has a "Parked" A record for @ already. Edit that one rather than adding a second, or half your visitors will land on the parking page. |
| Namecheap | Domain List, then Manage next to your domain, then Advanced DNS. | Remove the "URL Redirect Record" and any parking CNAME Namecheap added — they take priority over what you add. |
| Squarespace | Domains, then your domain, then DNS, then Custom records. | If your old site was on Squarespace, delete the Squarespace Defaults records for @ and www first — they point at the old site. |
| Hostinger | Domains, then Manage next to your domain, then DNS / Nameservers, and stay on the DNS records tab. | If your old site was built with Hostinger, @ points at it through an ALIAS record (to connect.hostinger.com), not an A record. Delete that ALIAS record, then add our A record for @. Change the CNAME for www to ours. Leave the email records (MX, the TXT starting v=spf1, and the CNAMEs for autodiscover, autoconfig and the _domainkey ones) as they are. Press Add Record after each new record. |
| Wix | Domains, then the ⋯ menu next to your domain, then Manage DNS records. | |
| IONOS | Domains & SSL, then the gear next to your domain, then DNS. | |
| Bluehost | Domains, then Manage next to your domain, then DNS. | |
| HostGator | Domains, then More next to your domain, then DNS. | |
| Network Solutions | My Domain Names, then Manage, then Advanced DNS Records. | |
| Hover | Your domain, then the DNS tab. | |
| NameSilo | Manage My Domains, then the blue globe next to your domain. | |
| Porkbun | Domain Management, then DNS next to your domain. | |
| Name.com | My Domains, then your domain, then Manage DNS Records. | |
| Amazon Route 53 | Hosted zones, then your domain, then Create record. | |
| DreamHost | Websites, then Manage Websites, then DNS next to your domain. | |
| SiteGround | Websites, then Site Tools, then Domain, then DNS Zone Editor. | |
| WordPress.com | Upgrades, then Domains, then your domain, then DNS records. | |
| Dynadot | My Domains, then Manage Domains, then DNS Settings. | |
