In short

Can a therapist who only works online appear on Google Maps?

Google only lists businesses that meet their customers in person, so an online-only practice isn't eligible for a listing, and an address where you don't see clients can get one suspended. Your website and directory profiles matter more then, and the check reads those instead.

Your questions, answered.

  • Yes. The searches, your score and the report are free, with no card.

  • Directories have strong websites, so they often rank for a practice's own name. A clear site, a complete Google listing and a profile that links back to you help your own site come first.

  • Google weighs them, but therapy ethics codes say not to solicit testimonials from clients. An open, optional invitation that leaves the choice to them is the way to get them.
