Daylight practice visibility study, October 2026

By Daylight Editorial Team · Collected · 227 practices

Daylight's scanner checked the websites, Google Business Profiles and directory listings of 227 US therapy practices (therapists, counselors and psychologists in private practice) found in Google's top 20 results for "therapist", "counseling", "LCSW private practice" and "psychologist private practice" in 16 US metro areas (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Diego, Dallas, Austin, Denver, Seattle, Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Portland, Nashville). Each figure is the share of practices that pass a check, among practices where it could be judged. Because the sample comes from Google's first two pages, it leans towards practices that are already easier to find than average.
