# My web address isn't working yet. What do I do?

Source: https://dylt.ai/help/domain-not-working (updated 2026-10-12)

Your setup screen checks your lines every few minutes and says exactly what's wrong with each one. Most problems are an old line left in place, a typo in a Value, or Cloudflare's orange cloud. Fix what it says, wait a little, and click Check now.

## The four checks

| Check | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **The domain is yours** | We found your TXT line named _daylight. |
| **Your address points here** | Your A line for @ points to your new site, and only to it. |
| **Phones and newer networks reach it too** | Your AAAA line for @ is right, and no old one is left. |
| **The www. version works** | Your CNAME line for www points to your new site. |

## What the messages mean, and the fix

| If the screen says | Do this |
| --- | --- |
| Add the TXT record named _daylight | Add it, with Type TXT, Name _daylight and the Value from your screen. |
| The verification record is there but its value is different | Copy the whole Value again. It's easy to miss the last few characters. |
| Delete the other A record for @ | You have two A lines for @. Delete the one that isn't ours, or half your visitors still get the old site. |
| The A record for @ still points at your old site | Edit that line and paste our Value in place of the old one. No A line for @? Look for an ALIAS or ANAME line for @: delete it, then add our A record. |
| Your address still points at your old site through an ALIAS record for @ | Delete the ALIAS line for @ (on Hostinger it points at connect.hostinger.com), then add our A record for @. |
| These come from the same ALIAS record for @ | Nothing extra to do: deleting the ALIAS line removes them. Delete any AAAA lines for @ you do see. |
| Delete the AAAA record for @ pointing at … | An old AAAA line sends phone visitors to your old site. Delete it. |
| www has an A record pointing at … | Delete that A line for www, then add the CNAME for www. |
| The CNAME record for www points at … | Edit it and paste our Value. |
| Cloudflare is answering instead of us | In Cloudflare, click the orange cloud on that line so it turns grey (“DNS only”). |

## How long it takes

1. **Update your settings**: we're waiting to see your new lines. Usually minutes after you save, sometimes a few hours.
2. **Making it secure**: we set up the padlock (https). We finish this within a working day, usually much sooner.
3. **Live**: you're done. We email you, and you can close the page at any point before that.

## Other things to check

- You clicked **Save** at your domain company. Some pages need saving line by line.
- In the Name box you typed just www or _daylight, not the whole address.
- There's no “URL redirect”, “forwarding” or “parked” setting still turned on for your domain.
- You're changing DNS at the company that actually runs it. Your setup screen names it.
