# How do I create a Google listing?

Go to business.google.com/create, use your practice's name exactly as your website does, choose the category we suggest, add your address or the area you serve, and verify it. Then paste in the description and services we've written for you.

## Step by step

1. Open **Google listing** in your dashboard and choose **We don't have a Google listing**. The page then shows these steps with your own details filled in.
2. Go to [business.google.com/create](https://business.google.com/create) and sign in with the Google account you want to own the listing.
3. Type your practice's name **exactly as your website shows it**.
4. Choose the category we suggest (often **Psychotherapist** or **Counselor**), then add the others we list.
5. Add your office address, or choose to show only the area you serve if you don't want your address public.
6. Verify it the way Google offers: a video, a phone call, a text or a postcard. It can take a few days.
7. Paste in the description, services and hours from your Google listing screen.

## Good to know

- Use the same name, address and phone number everywhere: your website, Google and your directories. Matching details are what Google trusts.
- Google's rules are for practices that see clients in person. If you only see clients online, Google may not allow a listing; your website and directory profiles matter most then.
- New listings can take a few days to appear on Google. Once yours does, come back and click **Actually, we do have a listing**.
